Should I use a condom when I’m using a vibrator or adult toy? As adult toys can transmit STI’s it is recommended to use a condom if you intend to share your toy, and always use a new condom. If you are the only person who will be using your toy it is fine to use it without condoms. We recommend cleaning and disinfecting toys before and after each use to prevent the spread of germs that can cause infection and STI’s. We recommend a two stage cleaning process;
Clean any organic secretions or debris with soap and water, if your device is not waterproof take extra care not to immerse your device.
Disinfecting ensures that germs that are not visible to the naked eye are killed or inactivated. We sell several toy cleaners that are suitable for this purpose.

I’ve never used a vibrator before, can you recommend one to get me started?
Purchasing your first toy can be a very daunting task, but it should be an exciting one! We recommend starting with a bullet or mini –vibe as they are a little less intimidating to someone who is just starting to experiment with toys. These are primarily designed for external stimulation (clitoris & labia) although some mini-vibes can be inserted. We even have several that are uniquely disguised as a lipstick or rubber duckie if you don’t like the idea of purchasing a phallic shaped vibe! If you are purchasing your first toy it’s important to think about where you’re likely to use it. Are you likely to use it in the bath or shower? If this is the case you must ensure that it’s waterproof so as not to ruin it! It is also very important to use a toy-safe or water-based lubricant, this will help prolong the life of your toy and make for a much more pleasurable experience! Cleaning your new toy properly is also very important!! We recommend cleaning and disinfecting toys before and after each use to prevent the spread of germs that can cause infection and STI’s.We recommend a two stage cleaning process;
Clean any organic secretions or debris with soap and water, if your device is not waterproof take extra care not to immerse your device.
Disinfecting ensures that germs that are not visible to the naked eye are killed or inactivated. We sell several toy cleaners that are suitable for this purpose.
And remember, if you intend to share your toy, be sure to use a new condom on your toy for each partner and be sure to clean and disinfect it properly before and after each person has used it!
There are so many different types of lubricants, what’s the difference between them? There are several different types of lubricants; Water-based, Silicone, Warming/Cooling, and Anal being the most common. The lubricant you choose will depend on several factors but mostly depending on how you’re going to use it.
Water based: These are generally the most widely available products on the market and are usually the least expensive. As the name implies they are ‘water-based’ and are usually not very effective for use in water like the shower, bath, or pool. They often do not last as long as silicone ones, so you may need to re-apply. Most water-based lubricants are safe to use with adult toys and latex, but make sure to always read the label.
Silicone: Silicone based lubricants possess many unique qualities which set them apart from other lubricants. Silicone does not absorb into the skin, instead staying on the surface of the skin to provide a more durable and smoother glide. As they are a much more durable lubricant, these are better for use in water (shower, bath, pool, etc). Not all silicone lubricants are certified condom and latex safe so be sure to always check the label before use! Not all silicone lubricants are safe to use with silicone based adult toys, as it may dissolve the surface of your toy-- making it sticky and causing your toy to slowly disintegrate. Some pre-lubricated condoms may also use a silicone lubricant and should therefore be checked before using it with your toy. When in doubt always check the label!
Warming & Cooling Lubricants : As the name suggests, these are designed to create a warming or cooling sensation to the area’s in which it is applied. Breathing on these types of lubricants can increase the effect.
Anal Lubricants: Many lubricants are safe for anal sex, but these are products that are specifically designed to enhance the anal experience. The are usually thicker in consistency to help the product stay in place, and many contain benzocaine (a numbing agent to help numb the area for a more comfortable experience).
What are phthalates? And are they harmful? Phthalates-- pronounded "thal-ates" -- are a family of chemicals used to soften hard plastics to make them more flexible. Phthalates have been produced since the 1920s and have been used in everything from perfumes to pesticides and medical instruments to sex toys.Phthalates soften the rubbers and make sex toys have a soft cushy feel to them. They are used in a wide range of sex toys, but there are many other toys that are phthalate-free.
You need to assess the risk yourself.There is a growing body of research that suggests phthalates may have a toxic effect, with a variety of individuals and research institutions have weighed in and expressed concern ranging from mild to serious.There is simply not enough data to determine their safety because few studies exist using sex toys. Most organizations (with the notable exception of the chemical industry) agree that phthalates pose some risk to health as Phthalate molecules are not chemically bound to the plastics they soften, and can "break free" from plastic fairly easily, causing rubber and jelly toys to deteriorate over time. Given all this, it seems reasonable to say that it would be better if nothing were made with phthalates, and if you are able to afford sex toys that are phthalate-free, I would certainly recommend them over toys that contain phthalates. If you have any concerns you can use condoms on your toys, or you can choose purchase toys that are phthalate free, which are often better quality anyway.
If you wish to pay by bank cheque, or personal cheque you will need to make the cheque payable to Modelo Australasia Pty Ltd, and post your order with it. Unfortunately, we will not ship any goods until full payment has been received, and the cheque has cleared (which can take several days).
